– The story by WWE.com regarding John Cena undergoing surgery to remove bone chips in his right elbow says that he will require two to three weeks of recovery. The previous story stated he would be out of action for around four to six weeks.

Cena tweeted the following today after undergoing the surgery.

“Leaving the #AndrewsInstitute what a super surgeon #DrJamesAndrews is. U guys have my word, i will do whatever i can to be active ASAP …

Because of who I have become, i DAILY deal with large doses of negativity. No biggie, always #riseabovehate but seeing all your messages …

Really means alot to me and I just want to say thanks …

Oh.. And @CMPunk u TIED a guy with a blown up ankle, and a shattered arm … what say when i get healthy …

We show the @wwe who #thechamp really is? And why would u even try and borrow @therock stuff, stick with #hitman n #macho #dontangerdwayne”

John Cena has had nagging injuries (ankle, elbow, etc) for months now. With almost six weeks until the next pay-per-view, the company felt now was the time to do the surgery and let him rest up.

A time frame for Cena’s return is expected to be pinpointed more closely on Thursday when he goes in for a check-up but with nearly six weeks until the Hell in a Cell PPV, his scheduled match with CM Punk looks to still be on. It appears he’s off house shows but will probably appear on TV, just not wrestling.

More as we get it.

maybe some others can shine for a little while now in matches. Cena has always been great on the mic and with Punk and Heyman they had build a killer rivalry without the need for matches, with just words.

  • Clint

Punk doesnt need Heyman. He can handle the mic all by himself. Heyman should be used on other talens like Prime Time Players or even Ziggler if they needed an angle to free Dolph from Vicki. Having Paul speaking for CM is like having Ryback bodyguarding for Big Show.

cena out means more time for the younger underused stars im hoping they can make some noise and show that wwe is not only cena

  • DTruth316

who will Main Event the next PPV? OMG! the buyrates will be complete shit!

here’s the test for all the Cena haters, can the WWE PPV do well if Cena doesnt have a match?

    • Banjo

He was out injured for a while before he returned at the Rumble and the rating was the same.

      • DTruth316

so youre saying Triple H will be wrestling again?

I do not hate Cena at all. I just call it like I see it.
I have watched wrestling since the 70′s when the NWA was the greatest organization. The NWA is still top standard when it came to wrestling that was realistic and entertaining at the same time. TNA and ROH are probably the closest to NWA quality as far as wrestling goes.
As for main eventing a PPV….THE TITLES SHOULD ALWAYS BE PRIORITY.
The Titles are the showcase of any wrestling show….They are champs for a reason! If you do not respect your titles…keep doing what you are doing and make the belts look like a joke….but maybe that is the problem with being known as PG and an ENTERTAINMENT organization.
Cena is pushed ONLY because he sells Merchandise…LOUSY IN THE RING, but good on the mic and sells Merchandise!
I really do not like the boy scout image he portrays when he has proven himself to be a male whore in the WWE locker room.

      • DTruth316

The PG crowd doesnt read the dirt sheets or care about more than what they see on TV.

I never saw Hulk Hogan wrestle because he only went to “the big cities” and PPV. So when i did see him wrestle in WCW in Oakland fight Ric Flair at Superbrawl IX it was awesome. That was a horrible match but it didnt matter.

Titles are props, they dont mean anything.
Im confused by what “lousy in the ring” means.
The Rock never jumped off the top rope.
Steve Austin became a brawler and took off.
Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle don’t put on wrestling clinics when they go out there.
Undertaker is lousy too, I’d say Cena uses more wrestling holds/moves.

It’s like all those fans who say how great ECW was, Everything they were famous for was the complete opposite of Wrestling.

so the PG is bashed for lack of wrestling that favors entertainment.
Where the Attitude Era favored violence/sex/foul language/promos over wrestling.

either way, Ryback is the future!

        • bahlogan

Hulk Hogan was all Flash and very limited on his moves.
I feel John Cena is the same way when it comes to using moves and making them look like he knows what he is doing.
Cena Shoulder block looks like a side of beef being thrown across the ring into someone.
Cena STF looks sloppy when he puts it on someone.
Cena AA looks like he is going in slow motion.
Cena Five Knuckle Shuffle is the worst move ever, along with Peoples Elbow, Hogans Leg Drop, They all take too long to pull off so the guy has to lay there for 2 minutes while he waits for a move to be completed.
Cena really looks cheesy with Jean Shorts and Tennis Shoes…he needs some wrestling boots/shoes at least.
Titles are nothing more than props? I think anyone who has held the NWA Worlds Championship would strongly disagree….Flair is still The Man and THE CHAMP.
WWE title belt/tag team belts are generic looking and need to have more classic look.
The NWA back in ’77 up until the demise of the 4 Horsemen was the greatest era of Pro Wrestling….All the titles had respect.
          World Champ
          USA Champ
          World TV Champ
          World Tag Team Champ
          USA Tag Team Champ
Most respected and most remembered times in wrestling bar none.

          • DTruth316

How many Titles has Cena won?
            Royal Rumble
            WWe Tag Team Champ
            World Tag Champ
            Unified World Tag Champ
            US Champ
            World Champ
            WWE Champ
            Money in the Bank

            and really Flair?
How many times did he do that flip in the corner? or the delayed falling down stunt? oh look it’s the figure four getting reversed again.

Cena brings money,Cena draws fans,Cena makes other people money as well.

what did the Monday Night Wars,WCW and the Attitude era have to do with Titles?
I could have cared less who was WCW Champion until Goldberg won it.

the NWA hasnt been relevant in years.
