– Alex Shelley is currently negotiating with WWE and is close to signing a deal. He is still booked for an upcoming New Japan Pro Wrestling tour in September and could sign with the company after.
– Billy Gunn, who appeared on the 1,000th WWE RAW event, is the newest addition to WWE.com’s Alumni section. WWE.com writes of the multi-time champion, “Whether he was a Smoking Gunn or a New Age Outlaw, Billy Gunn never let his mouth write a check that his butt couldn’t cash. Not down with that? The former Intercontinental Champion has two words for ya …” The bio does not acknowledge his “Badass” moniker.
WWE officials were reportedly impressed with Gunn and his interactions with Shawn Michaels on the 1,000th RAW event and the belief is he’ll receive at least one match on a future televised show. More recently, he evaluated WWE developmental talent two weeks ago at Florida Championship Wrestling headquarters.
