– The feeling within WWE is that the 1,000th RAW next Monday will go very smoothly because the show is so stacked, but that the company will have a difficult time filling three hours of the show each week. It is also being pointed out that a minor problem is that WWE can no longer do SmackDown tapings on Monday nights if they need to, such as earlier this month when they had to do both shows on Monday due to the Colorado wildfires forcing them to cancel the Tuesday night TV tapings at the World Arena in Colorado Springs, CO.

– Triple H recently directed that title reigns should be longer in order to build the importance of the belts. Both CM Punk and Sheamus retained their titles at Money in the Bank and are expected to hold onto them for a while longer. There was tallk at RAW this week that there would be a major angle between John Cena and CM Punk next week where somehow Cena would keep his Money in the Bank briefcase. The Big Show and possibly The Rock would be involved in this. It’s almost guaranteed that this will change numerous times before RAW next week so take this with a grain of salt for now.

    i agree with hunter

i disagree with everyone saying they won’t be able to fill 3 hours.
WCW couldn’t either and we got to see some awesome matches we wouldn’t see in the original 1 hour or 2 hours of Raw/Nitro

Hopefully this forces them to actually have matches last longer than 3 mins, including womens matches. They cant keep coming up with material to talk about can they….? I dont understand why they cant just make matches more about getting into any title contention, than having some sort of altercation accompanied by a bad storyline. This BFG series idea is a great example of that.

My personal opinion about the length of a title reign should be kept to a maximum of 4 months. I think giving other people the chance to wrestle for major titles and win them will make more of the roster credible to fans. I feel the days of Ric Flair are gone….he used to keep the belt way too long and when he lost the title he usually won it back within 2 – 4 weeks. I think Daniel Bryan and Zigler should be holding a title and have a back and forth winning of the titles with the champs.

I disagree with Hunter about the length of title reigns. I think more of the big names like Daniel Bryan, Zigler, and even Big Show deserves a chance to hold the titles. It does get old seeing CM PUNK with the WWE Championship for this long of a period. I think all title reigns should be kept to a maximum of 4 months and then change hands.

Trips makes a good point. Longer reigns means more and adds importance to the belt. You don’t have to go back that far and there were still relatively few champs, but (of course) since the brand extension)it seems that every other wrestler is an ex-world or WWE champ.
As for a 3 hour RAW – it won’t last, there’s no good reason to have a weekly 3 hour show, plus it will totally devalue the PPV’s. Why pay £14.99 for a PPV when you get a PPV length show every Monday for free? That said, what will happen to an even sharper degree is that big matches will only occur at PPV’s, therefore devaluing the weekly show even further. They have really painted themselves into a corner here IMHO.

…Or maybe have the Champion in the MAIN EVENT… No?

The title really is only as important as whether or not John Cena is the champion, and that sucks ass. Longer reigns is a step in the right direction though.

At a stretch WWE could always fill the first hour of Raw with an episode of Vintage Collection… or even Bump Superstars off of the card for a week. I’m sure they’ll work around it.
