WWE officials are in the process of laying out plans for the top matches at WrestleMania 29, which will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.

Among the plans is who current WWE Champion CM Punk will wrestle. He has been pushing behind the scenes to wrestle Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin. As of right now, there are no guarantees that this match will take place but it is what CM Punk wants.

Austin has said over the past year that he is healthy enough to wrestle again and that CM Punk is his choice for an opponent if he did return.

A WWE source has stated that the possibility of Austin wrestling at WrestleMania is “more likely a no than a yes” at this time.

I for one would definitely like to see Austin wrestle one more time. He’s had a lot of years to heal up and he obviously wants to be careful with who he steps into the ring with.

i hope this matchs happens think him and punk could have a good feud on the mic and a good match at wm punks straight edge and austins beer drinking could have some classic promos

I think the match would be a better at WM30

30 would make sense as an anniversary event, but SCSA is 47 now, 48 next year so to wait until he’s almost 50 might not be a good idea. Hell of a match to look forward to though, and unlike Dwayne we know we’d get Austin on RAW regularly to build the match through the summer, past the Rumble and on to WM.

Austin needs to keep his stiff neck, and broke knees out of the ring. Austin is done…let the old man rest. I got tired of Austin real quick after he almost had his neck broke and still acting like he could still beat everyone in the locker room. Austin, The Rock, John Cena are all Hulk Hoganites (takes a whippin, Hulks Out, does lame finishers and of course they win!)….They do not ever want to lose and when they do there always has to be an excuse.

That seems like the most wasteful thing ever, he says he has one more in him, he’s not getting any younger, and it would be nice to see a “pass the torch” match especilally with CM Punk.
