It has been rumored in the past that WWE no longer had any interest in former WWE and TNA wrestler Matt Morgan. It’s unclear if this is a new development or if the rumors are simply recycling old news taken out of context. Recent reports say that Triple H is not interested in Morgan due to the development of the Performance Center and WWE’s plan to focus on young developmental talent instead of bringing in former stars. While Triple H, Vince McMahon and other officials want to maximize the potential of the Orlando performance center, the comments from Triple H in the reports aren’t new and they aren’t accurate.

In August, there were reports that WWE had “zero” interest in TNA stars. This was the time when Triple H made the comments about the new Performance Center and WWE’s focus on young stars. Matt Morgan was never named or mentioned in that conversation and Triple H was referring to the “TNA originals” when he made those comments, instead of former WWE stars.

WWE is still interested in Matt Morgan and it’s “a matter of when, not if” he’ll return to WWE. However, they are not interested in other TNA talent like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe or Bobby Roode. Sting is still on the company’s wish list.

They didn’t know what to do with Matt the first time – what makes anyone think they will know what to do now?

Morgan is another guy who will be mis-used like Castagnoli, Spradlin, and Sebei.

Another guy who will learn quickly that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.

    (sigh)

I think its hilarious how he goes to sites like Wikipedia and takes the time to find out their real names and then refers to them by their real names like he is some kind of insider, funny he refers to sting as sting, samoa joe as samoa joe, etc, someone tell coward of the night they use stage names in TNA as well…other then castagnoli, I have no idea who he is talking about, who cares what their real names are??

Apparently he cares. It gives him that nice ego boost and causes him to think he’s actually crafted an argument of substance when in reality, a preschooler could probably rip apart any/all of his arguments. In fact, the only thing he probably can “one up” a preschooler on is his use of a wrestler’s real name vs. their ring name since no one that young cares about a wrestler’s real name.

That’s no different than nuufolau, jeff, heck all of TNA’s younger talent being misused (see what I did there). TNA has no faith in the younger talent to carry the company so they’re forced to rely on the “grandpas” to do so. Sorry to disappoint you, but it looks like the grass is greener everywhere except TNA right now. If you care to debate the matter, feel free. I do, however, request that you use actual FACTS in any rebuttal argument you might have. I realize that using actual FACTS is a foreign concept for you, but there’s a first time for everything.

But the point here that is being missed is Morgan is not a star, he is just big and being big does not equal to being a lead dog, for a company. I’m a huge fan of younger talent being pushed but the readyness of the talent comes in to play. It’s always ez to say this person or that person isn’t where they should be but it really come to the want of that talent look at Hero he is a guy I would love to see on a main roster but his own squandering of the opertunity in front of him is his own fault, Morgan has alway be a guy to say he’s “worth more” but can he draw the casual fan is the main case and the answer has been no more often then not

That’s true. Being big does not equal being a lead dog. However, I’d argue Morgan wasn’t given much to work with during his WWE stint. He was in the group with Brock and Nathan Jones which ended when Brock and Nathan left and he ended up being injured. Then he was repackaged with the “stuttering” gimmick. Again, not much to work with.

This might not be the best example, but look at Kane. Until “Kane” arrived, he was Fake Diesel and Isaac Yankem. I think we can both agree that those weren’t great gimmicks. Kane also never won any titles as those characters and jobbed heavily during that timeframe. All his success in WWE came as Kane.

As far as my comment about TNA’s reliance on the older guys goes, TNA has been around long enough where they “should” have plenty of in-house main event depth (depending on your views of their talent pool). Since TNA’s split from the NWA in 2007, Sting, Kurt Angle, and Mick Foley account for 40% of the title reigns (10/25). While Angle is debatable, did Sting and Foley (especially Foley) really need to win the title? Why rely so heavily on these guys when you have guys like Joe, Aries, Hardy, etc.? If you believe Creature, everyone in TNA is apparently “main event” caliber. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Joe hasn’t been in the title picture since 2010. This just shows how TNA has seriously mismanaged things. Whether it’s misused talent/poor booking decisions or an honest lack of depth, there’s a reason why the older guys are at the forefront and everyone else takes a back seat.
Sorry for the length of this post. I hope I addressed everything sufficiently.
