– Former WWE Creative Writer Court Bauer was on Fight Club Chicago, and spoke about why he feels Triple H is the wrong opponent for Brock Lesnar at Summerslam. Here are what he had to say…

He’s (Lesnar) a top a draw. It’s just how you apply a talent like that. Its kind of like, you look at movies. Everyone lays an egg, a rotten egg. But there’s still a lot of box office power behind them. You just gotta find the next one. The follow up is critical for his success in WWE. I don’t feel HHH is the right matchup for a lot of reasons both mechanically in the ring and in terms of long term investment. If they (WWE) are really paying Brock Lesnar five million dollars for 20-25 dates and they brought in Paul Heyman for dollar X for X amount of dates, do you believe that’s helping the company’s future by having HHH beat him or lose to him when there’s so many, so many young talents that could use that TV exposure, could use that win if they are going to beat Brock Lesnar or even losing to Brock Lesnar look better? HHH is not even a part-time wrestler at this point. So you really have to question the decision making going on there.

– Jim Ross appeared on Sports Talk AM-1400 in Oklahoma on Wednesday. Here are the highlights…

* Jim Ross revealed that he will be in St. Louis for Raw 1000 on Monday. He said he didn’t know what his role will be, but he will be in attendance. “I wouldn’t miss this event for the word,” Ross said. He compared it to being a baseball player who waits to look at the lineup to find out what his role will be.

* Ross noted that the Raw 1000 event is nearly sold out.

* A caller noted that WrestleMania didn’t do enough to spotlight younger talent, and questioned whether Raw 1000 will do more in that regard. Ross disagreed with the caller’s assessment of WrestleMania. He said WWE is building toward the future and it is a slow process.

* Ross was asked whether Daniel Bryan will be a long term player in WWE. Ross said Bryan is amazing performer. He said there’s no doubt in his mind that WWE officials see him as one of the best they have on the roster.

* Ross was asked whether he will face Michael Cole on Raw 1000. “God, I hope not,” Ross cracked. He said he thinks they’ve put the fans through enough cruel and unusual punishment. Ross said there are so many young talents who need exposure that there’s no reason to give the time to a 60 year-old guy like him.

* Ross was asked whether he will be at SummerSlam. He said he will be there as a fan. He said he and his wife plan to attend the show. He stressed that he will appear as a fan and not as a broadcaster.

* A caller expressed concern about Raw expanding to three hours. Ross said it’s challenging to produce a three-hour television show in any genre. He said he thinks it could accelerate the development of younger talent and open the door for Divas and tag teams to get more air time. “It’s a good challenge to have,” Ross said regarding the expansion. He said time and the ratings will tell.

* A caller asked about John Cena being a polarizing figure. Ross noted that he signed Cena to his first deal. He said Cena is popular, yet polarizing. He said he is dedicated to his craft. He said Cena is a total team player and he loves that about him. “I really do have a great respect for him,” Ross said. He added that Ross is the top guy in the company without question.

yeah, but no one can be surprised that HHH is cherry-picking the best feuds for the biggest events, can they? Really, I’m beyond tired of JR, McMahon and HHH saying guys need to ‘step up’. When they do, they just get blasted back down and made to look cheap. Look at Kofi and Miz, two guys who were built to main event and then dropped back to midcard. They are too scared to give Ziggler a real go because he’s not ‘big enough’. What a load of crap, that guy can go with any of the top guys. Bryan, Punk, Ziggler, they should be fighting Lesnar, not HHH who is well past his best days.

he didn’t “blast” the storyline, he simply didn’t agree with Lesnar facing HHH @ SummerSlam because of HHH not being a full-time wrestler & this basically being a “1-time match”, meaning after this, what is there for Lesnar to do?? i agree with him, if we’re goin’ to see Lesnar come in every few months for 1 match, then what’s the point in paying him 5 million dollars??? seems like a waste to me…..i’d rather see some young, fresh talent get a chance @ the main event level like Dolph Ziggler/Cody Rhodes, rather than Lesnar come in, start some half-ass feud with someone for a few weeks, (like Cena/HHH), have 1 match w/ them & disappear for months until the next “big PPV” (Rumble, Survivor Series, SummerSlam, Mania)…..

I don’t know who the writer is but he’s an idiot. HHH vs Brock makes perfect sense. There really couldn’t have been a better person for him to feud with after losing to Cena. Brock needs a major win and HHH is the only man in the company that could give him that without losing his spot. It wouldn’t benefit Punk, Bryan, Shaemus or Orton to lay down for Brock and it would ruin Lesnars momentum to have Punk beat him right now.

It looks to me like they are emulating his MMA career. A fluke loss against a former champ, followed by a win that will get him a title match, Cena vs Brock 2. Rock winning the Royal Rumble leading to Brock vs Rock at Wrestlemania for the WWE Championship. Could anything be more epic for the WWE? The ratings draw on that match alone would be insane, what with The Rock touring the hollywood shows and Brock bringing in the UFC fans.
