On Monday night we noted on the website that former Cryme Tyme member and current WWE Star JTG went ballistic on WWE during an outraged Twitter rant on Monday evening. As previously reported, the basic analysis of the situation is that several mid-card talents are angered at their lack of air time on TV and their current pay.

Among all the complaints, another topic of concern is merchandise sales. In terms of merchandise, John Cena and Rey Mysterio are the top two superstars in the company who sell the most merchandise. We’re told John Cena makes between 40-42% off all sales. In comparison, Zack Ryder makes less than 10% from sales. Ryder was double hit when WWE also recently took away his personal YouTube channel and made it their own. Ryder is one of the top five merchandise sellers. This was obviously so they could take in all advertising revenue through YouTube.com. We’re told Ryder is not getting any money from the show right now. Ryder was basically was told to let WWE run his show or to have control on whether to shut it down for good. The point of the show was to show WWE management his potential and to get a possible push from it. While shutting down the channel would have gotten him much less publicity, he opted to give WWE the show so it would still be featured and his name would still be out there. He was ultimately screwed over in the end.

We’re told Zack Ryder lives in an apartment in which he currently shares with a good friend. This is due to lack of monetary compensation for WWE and the company not giving proper pay-per-view and merchandise bonuses.

        No there hasent. It’s WWE TLIS, it’s not Ryder’s anymore. Have you noticed how much the show has sucked since WWE took over it? I used to look towards it every Thursday, but since then I barely care about it. Like the whole “where’s Trent” can I say #AreYouSeriousBro

    Wait. Cena makes 40-42% of sales? So if 1,000 shirts are purchased at a PPV, at 25 dollars each, $25,000 would be earned and Cena makes $10,000? Thats fucking ridiculous.

      Its probably 40-42% of the profit from the shirt. So subtract the price to manufacture each shirt, he’s still making great money off of it.

        nope its 40-42% of the value. And when you manufacture in the quantities that WWE does, and Im pretty sure they use their own manufacturing equipment, the cost is close to nil. Less than a dollar per shirt, and I know this from my time doing sales and merchandising. Hes still making close to 10 dollars per shirt. (i used the 40% instead of the higher, 42% for all of my mathematics, so Im sure im pretty dead on)

    Maybe they are the lazy wrestlers. They just show up, do whatever creative says, and doesn’t care about asking if they will get another push. I don’t even wanna know what would happen when Linda McMahon senate run ends …. it will be bad.

    Given the money WWE is raking in, plus the network they are planning and the obvious ostentatious lifestyle of people like HHH, Orton etc I think it sucks that Zack Ryder, especially Zack Ryder, is fucked over like this. In terms of their web content and the YouTube channel, they owe him BIG TIME. If he’s not making it in the ring, fair enough, that’s all based around in-ring skills and storylines and Zack is a solid hand but no HBK. But for the vision, thinking out of the box and getting over via VKM’s much-loved social media, he deserves to be making good money. Appalling, it’s stuff like this that makes me so annoyed at the management.

    Wow. Poor Zack Ryder man. WWE screwed the hell out of him pretty badly, and not getting any money from WWE at all. That’s insanity. Really sucks for him, and I hope WWE will start treating him with the RESPECT he deserves and stuff, but that’s NOT likely to happen due to that. It’s a no win-win situation indeed… no doubt about that!
