– Sources within WWE report that John Cena was not the original choice to win the WWE Title Money in the Bank match. The original plan, set weeks before, was to have Chris Jericho win the match and then become the first person to ever cash in the shot unsuccessfully that night after Daniel Bryan and CM Punk’s match. At that point, the plan was to have Punk vs. Bryan as the main event.

WWE decided on the week of the show to go with Cena winning instead. This is why the MITB match got promoted to the main event; officials felt that the ending would lack impact if the show ended with Punk winning and no one cashing in the briefcase.

    BS too. Cena was scheduled to win LONGER than the week before. Anyone who heard the preliminary lineup for Summerslam knew Cena was taking the briefcase.

    Boy now that would have been a kick in the nuts to Jericho. But at the same time, it sounds like that means Cena will be successful in his cash in. Ugh….

    I just wish the WWE would stop trying to bank it all on one guy….John(no ring talent) Cena…. just so the little kiddies and brain dead adults who cheer him on get their one last thrill. Vince better start seeing that REAL WRESTLING FANS are getting fed up with CENA and his tired ring entrance music along with jean shorts and tennis shoes.
    Show Daniel Bryan, Dolf Ziggler, and other solid performers that they matter to the company. Start putting wins and gold around these guys instead of falling back on a dead horse. I grew up watching wrestling when it was good….The Jim Crockett NWA days and then WCW before Time Warner got hold of it…now that was and always will be the best times in wrestling.
