As previously reported, WWE is putting added emphasis on larger Superstars in recent weeks. This is apparently the reason we’ve seen a push for The Big Show to the main event level, as well as the reason behind his match with Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at the upcoming Survivor Series pay-per-view on November 24th. Additionally, the large-guy-push in WWE is the reason for the added television exposure of guys like Luke Harper and The Great Khali.

Also, Daniel Bryan may be done as a top star and main eventer. A lot of the blame, as far as WWE is concerned, belongs to the recent attempt to push Daniel Bryan to the top. Bryan is getting the blame by WWE management for the recent drop in pay-per-views, as they feel they gave him a shot in the top spot for the last few months-worth of pay-per-views, and they consider the buyrates dropping to be a direct result of trying to push a smaller guy as opposed to a larger guy, which WWE feels the fans want these days.

Sigh. Submit your thoughts below in the comments section!

Hahaha this is the most ridiculous logic ever. The guy is super over with the crowd more so then anybody on the roster besides Punk and Cena. You put him in screw job finishes and shoehorn him into a feud with Randy Orton. Who has the Charisma of a cold grilled cheese sandwich. You don’t let the man run with the belt and instead adopt the tired chasing the belt booking that hasn’t worked in over a decade. Then you blame all of your failures on him. Look at the difference between how they pushed Cena on his first WWE title reign to how they did Daniel Bryan. Look at the difference between how they pushed Batista to how they pushed Rey Mysterio on his first World Title run. Look at the how they pushed Stone Cold he won his matches and beat the bad guys and the crowds got behind him. You wanna let the man beat Cena then run screw jobs finishes over and over and blame him for business .This is an textbook terrible booking of an extremely over face who got a run with the title. This way of booking is the same way verbatim they used to book guys in the past they didn’t want to get over just so they could say they tried. Ridiculous. Keep ignoring your fans and making us watch Randy Orton/ Big Show/ John Cena matches instead of getting new people to the main events and see whos left in a few years. You think a 2.0 is bad now?

Super over with the crowd – LMAO

      Um…cowboy???

When that “crowd” is barely 5000 in a tarped off arena……being over means nothing.

I could walk in a room with one person in it and that person could start clapping for me – then I could say I’m over with the crowd. So what?

When that crowd is 5000 in a tarped off arena – who cares if you are over with them?

When Stone Cold was over with a crowd of 15,000, or Hogan, THAT meant something.

Love the stupidity of people daying Danielson is over – yeah – with a continually dwindling crowd.

Only so many people can think yelling YES YES YES at some ugly pale uncharismatic bearded guy is worth spending money on or cool.

With the people on top of the card, and how WWE has changed – the WWE “universe” is two groups…

a bunch of IWC nerdy geeks, and rugrats 10 and under.

That’s the only people who like that nerdy PG junk.

If you are male over 15 and like WWE, or bash people who don’t like it and don’t consider it their cup of tea…..

….you need to take a long look in the mirror and figure out where your life went wrong.

I just owned the whole Universe in one fell swoop.

      MAN – that felt good.

With that – gone for the weekend.

      BAM!

    Why?

Um, maybe because Danielson is ugly, dirty looking, ugly beard and weird lips, no charisma, looks like a midget, and overrated ring skills nowhere as good as the Universe ie IWC claims?

Did I hit all of them???

The crowd decides who’s over and Daniel Bryan is way over. Just like the crowd decides not to watch TNA and its long list of wrestlers that look suspiciously like Daniel Bryan hmmm at least from what your saying.

      • Creature_of_the_Night November 9, 2013 at 6:24 pm - Reply

That crowd is a third of what it was in tarped off arenas.

Look at pictures of Hogan, Warrior, and Macho Man.

Then look at a picture of Danielson.

Still wonder why he is dropped from the main event?

Nothing larger than life about Bryan and he has no IT factor to him.

    (sorry, Bobby)

Well, unlike you, I don’t watch wrestling to ogle them. I watch for wrestling. Hecan wrestle. You cant. You know nothing about wrestling. Owned. Ok now moving on. Macho wasn’t even 6 ft. He was amazing. HAD A DIRTY BEARD WAS BALDING AND UNDER 6 FT AND AMAZING!!! OWNED AGAIN!!! The warrior was maybe 6’2. Not a big guy by wwe standards. Oh wow, I made you look like a dipshit again.

It’s simple. Brass needs someone to blame so Bryan gets to be the scapegoat. Kind of like how Triple H ended up being the scapegoat for the “Curtain Call” at MSG.

I think the reason in drops lately is because everyone is tired of the screwjob endings of ppv’s. People are tired of “faces of the wwe” being a larger “superhero” like Cena or Orton. If you would give the ball to Daniel Bryan now and let him have a decent run, you can prepare a new “fresh” guy like Roman Reigns to become the top guy in one or two years.

Because of his size, a guy like Reigns should be able to follow in the footsteps of DB.
If he needs to fill the shoes of guys like John Cena, it will be more difficult.

    That’s my theory…

have to hand it to wwe for releasing this story and the dirtsheets believing it to be real. the fact they mentioned khali is clearly obvious they are trying to get fans behind bryan in his quest against the machine

No it’s because they booked to look stupid against Paul and his cronies. If they let just keep the title, it would’ve been huge because wrestling fans can identify with him more so than Orton or Cena. He’s way better in the ring than either Orton or Cena can ever hope to be. Look at Michaels or Hart, they weren’t huge guys like Hogan or Warrior but they were given a chance and it worked. They never gave Danielson a chance and instead put the belt on Orton for 134,232,265th time. In this day and age of ratings grabs and the fact that they are writers and not bookers we will never see a guy like Punk or Danielson ever get a shot at the title again.

Yep all the small guys who became and stayed main eventers got REAL pushes. Compare Punks underdog run with the World Title the first time to his long WWE title run. Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels they got REAL pushes. Not the bs underdog push Vince throws out because he doesn’t believe in a superstar.

bookers can book a wrestling card, writers can write a wrestling show.
the problem is they have a too many writers ,pulling in different directions.
the attitude area a 2 writers and vince not a big creative team stuck in a Wrestlin bubble

wrestling been the same since 2000,

You know, because Daniel Bryan isn’t the MOST over guy in 10 years! Ridiculous!

Maybe, had they given him the title, we would have seen better ratings and buyrates. Just a thought.

I said from the beginning, just like with Brooks, Danielson is “over” with a very very very small crowd.

    And got laughed at.

Who has has been proven right through the years?

MAN how I know that irks the Universe.

    (wink wink……grins)

    That is all.

WWE can do what they want ….. I on the otherhand, would give Bryan the WWE belt.
HHH is too proud to admit he didn’t have half the “it” factor in his day then Bryan does (or did have) today.
These guys ie VKM & HHH are in love with the exaggerated male form and they think we the fans are the same.
Hmmmm, Give the Title to a guy with 2 strikes against the Wellness Policy ….. real smart!
I’m surprised Stephanie doesn’t follow suit with her dad and Hubby and push someone who resembles her physique like Tamina.

There is a difference between a big natural guy(s) like The Wyatts and unnatural like Cena. I’m not insinuating anything illegal when I say unnatural.
There is a difference tween guys you can relate with like Bryan and guys with the WWE “look” but minus 10 charisma like Orton.

To be the man you’ve got to beat ……………………………… Tony Garea
    Egbert
