WWE House Show Results (6/23): Wheeling, West Virginia

WZROnline.com reader Gary Graham sent along the following WWE house show report from Wheeling, West Virginia …

1.Santino Marella beat Jack Swagger(unlike the night before in Bethlehem there was no Ziggler run in to cost Jack the match-clean pin w/ cobra).

2.Alex Riley beat Bray Wyatt(Husky Harris) w/DDT. Harris to me has gotten worse. He was terrible.

3.Layla beat Beth Phoenix w/neckbreaker. Pretty long match. Decent match too.Went about 10-15 mts. Both looked great(in more ways than one).

4.Kofi Kingston-Justin Gabriel(sub for injured R-Truth) beat The Colons.Also a good,long match. Same Dusty finish as Bethlehem show.

5.Brodus Clay beat David Otunga w/ big splash. Boring. Clay over like crazy w/ the kiddies though.

6.Fans Choice Match- Zack Ryder beat Dolph Ziggler w/ Rough Ryder. Streetfight match won “voting.” Hardly any weapons were used though.

7.John Cena beat Big Show-Tensai-John Lauriniatis(Handicap Match-same finish as Bethlehem show).

Notes:

Matt Stryker was ring announcer.

4 of the matches were very long.(Divas,Kofi-Gabriel v Colons and Dolph-Zack and Santino-Swagger) all went about 13-20 minutes or so.

Crowd was about 100% a face crowd. No Yes chants(thank God),Ryder was tons over more than Dolph,kids love Santino,Kofi and Clay.

Cena (shocking) was most popular by a large margin and Show had most heel heat.

And as always when he’s in W.V.,Cena “sang”(more like butchered) “Country Roads” to close the show.

Really a good show. Crowd was into almost all of it(except the Riley match-moreso because of Husky) and really there was only 1-2 bad matches.
